Concept:

Providing a broader holistic and

interactive approach to Healthy Lifestyles for the community, members, and staff.

The community wellness center will be

offering healthy lifestyle mentoring through coarses

and workshops.

Classes include the following:

-Healthy foods and preparation

-Life coaching

-Physical training and conditioning

-Disease control through nutrition.

INSPIRATIONS:

I had originally started with the hopes of improving a location.

This Y.M.C.A. already is reconstructing it's surrounding locations

The project idea then continued through an observation.

It is a common problem in America with:  illnesses, diseases, obesity and diabetes (in children and adults), and many improper ways of becoming fit.

Concluding with creating spaces that were accessible for all needs and ages.

THE CHALLENGE:

The Y.M.C.A was perfect for my ideas, because of their core existance;

to reach out to communities.

What I currently noticed was a lack of accessibility for all ages and needs in the facility.

So this project challenged me with what people need in communities while staying within the footprint of the facility.

Including people with different:  cultures, ages, abilities, accessibility, and needs.

THE PROJECT:

By having a accessible demonstration kitchen and community garden, I am providing an additional healthy idea that could directly assist anyones needs and any community.

Including open and versatile social spaces, a Non-Denominational Chapel, provides social experiences and needs for the community.

The Patio & Kitchen; was designed for multiple events that often are provided for members and staff annually.

All of this and more that is added to the building for an experience the people deserve to enjoy as a community in comfort.

A community that I enjoy and had a vision to bring people together through a more "holistic" lifestyle.
